What we do

whatwedoFood nourishes the body, mind and spirit.
When you become part of the Loaves and Fishes “farmily”, you join us in our commitment to grow and eat healthy food that replenishes the soil and protects air and water. We offer a variety of classes for kids of all ages, including all facets of producing, preparing and preserving healthy food.
We offer workshops in sustainable farming, permaculture, creative reuse, and other homesteading skills. Many people have shared happy memories of their grandmother’s peach jam or their grandfather’s homemade wine. We host skill sharing workshops on bread making, fermentation and canning, woodworking, stained glass, medicinal herbs, yoga, soap making, green building and other traditional crafts.
We offer the Loaves and Fishes club house as a gathering place for family and friends, school and church groups, service clubs and celebrations of community. We mentor guests in a variety of micro enterprises, such as coffee roasting, composting and brewing worm tea, energy efficiency and animal care. Each of these disciplines is based on a solid understanding of basic math, science and economic concepts essential in everyday life.
Most of all, we bring people together to have fun learning and working together.
